Pre-registration

  • I want to register for a QSSUG webinar and I can’t find the link. How do I register?

The second page of the flyer contains instructions to self register. You’ll find the registration link at the bottom of this page. The link will take you to the registration form for this particular webinar. Just fill in the form, and you’ll be registered! Also, you’ll receive an email confirming your registration soon after you register.
  • How do I know if my district is a QSSUG committee member? What if we are members of one committee, but not the other?

To find out if your organization is a member of one or more committees, contact your local QSS System Administrator.

  • I want to register for a QSS-sponsored webinar and I can’t find the link. How do I register?

The second page of the flyer contains instructions to self register. You’ll find the registration link at the bottom of this page. The link will take you to the registration form for this particular webinar. Just fill in the form, and you’ll be registered! Also, you’ll receive an email confirming your registration soon after you register.

  • How do I get added to the webinar/seminar mailing list?

Mike Smith (for QSSUG) or Marcie Bowerman (for QSS) are happy to add you to the webinar/seminar announcement list. Or you can have your QSS System Administrator contact your assigned QSS Account Manager to ask to be added to the list.

Registration

  • Is it too late to register for a webinar, even if it’s in session right now?

No, it’s not too late if the webinar is set up for you to self-register (all QSSUG and QSS webinars). Click on the registration link for the webinar and follow the instructions. If the webinar has already started, you will be prompted to join the webinar in progress.

Note: As a reminder, if you join a QSSUG webinar while it is in session and you are a non-member, you will be charged the full $250 non-member fee.

  • Is it too late to register for a seminar when the registration cut-off date has passed?

For a QSSUG seminar - no, it’s not too late, but only if space is available.
    • Contact Yolanda De La Paz immediately at yolanda@qss.com to find out if space is available.
    • If space is available, contact Yolanda for further instructions on registration and payment.
For a QSS seminar - no, it’s not too late if space is available and your organization has not yet filled allotted spots. For any further questions regarding QSS-sponsored seminars, please contact Yolanda at yolanda@qss.com.
  • Can multiple people watch the same webinar from different locations?

Registration for a webinar is by single viewer registration and cannot be shared on two or more desktops. Each view requires its own registration. However, those viewing the webinar from the desktop that is registered are welcome to participate.

  • For the same QSS paid webinar, is it possible to pay the $250 fee and have more than one viewer at different desktops?

At this time, this is not possible.
  • What is the 2016-2017 registration cut-off date for QSS-sponsored seminars?

Two weeks (14 days) prior to the scheduled seminar.

  • What is the 2016-2017 registration cut-off date for QSS-sponsored paid webinars?

One week (7 days) prior to the scheduled webinar.

  • When registering for a QSSUG webinar, why do I have to answer the two registration questions?

The answers to those two questions help the committee co-chairs determine if your agency is a committee member. It is important to answer these questions carefully.
    • Committee members - registration is free
    • Non-members - pay a $250 fee to attend

Post-registration

  • I self-registered for the wrong QSSUG webinar. What do I do?

Simply go ahead and register again for the correct webinar. The GoToWebinar software does not allow registrations to be canceled. So, you will be listed as “not attending” the webinar you accidently registered for, but this doesn’t create a problem. Non-committee members will not be charged if they don’t attend.
  • I self-registered for a QSSUG webinar and didn’t get a confirmation link. Can you send me the confirmation link?

QSS does not have access to self-registration confirmation links. If you didn’t get a confirmation link, or you have accidently deleted the email containing the confirmation link, you will need to re-register for the webinar. For further assistance, contact Mike Smith at mike@qss.com for issues with QSSUG webinars.
  • I didn’t get my webinar confirmation for a QSS paid webinar. Was I registered? Can you send me the confirmation link?

Please contact your assigned QSS Account Manager or Yolanda De La Paz (yolanda@qss.com) for assistance.

General / Miscellaneous / Other

  • I just found out that my QSSUG registration form and check was not sent to QSS, can I still attend the seminar? Can I bring the payment and give it to the presenter?

Yes, you can bring your payment to the seminar, but only if there are open seats. Contact Yolanda De La Paz at yolanda@qss.com to find out if space is available.

  • Who is the CE Team and what do they do?

CE stands for Customer Education. The team is Duane Percox, Mike Smith, and Marcie Bowerman. Duane handles policy and manages company-wide decisions. Among other responsibilities, Marcie handles QSS organization/staff development and QSS-sponsored webinars/seminars. Included in Mike’s responsibilities is coordinating QSSUG-sponsored webinars/seminars, and he’s also liaison to the User Group Finance/Personnel and PSFA Committees.

  • Who do I contact if I have a question about a webinar or seminar?

First, check whether the workshop flyer answers your question. If not, feel free to contact a member of the QSS Customer Education (CE) Team for assistance:
    • For questions regarding QSS seminars or webinars, contact Marcie Bowerman at marcie@qss.com
    • For questions regarding QSSUG seminars or webinars, contact Mike Smith at mike@qss.com

  • I attended a webinar and found it very helpful. However, I have a question to ask other users. How do I do that?

Many customers use the QSSUG Listserv. If you’re not on the Listserv, contact Chris Gilbert at cgilbert@scoe.net to get registered. If you'd like to network with other users, another option is to attend QSSUG committee meetings, held three (3) times a year.

  • After attending a webinar, I realized I might want to review some QSS screencasts on the same topic. Where can I find a list of available screencasts?

There are several ways to view a list of available screencasts:

    • Go to the Customer Education Portal on qss.com, then click on “QSS Screencast Series Portal”

    • From the QCC main tree menu, click on “Help+Video”, then click on “Video: List all available Videos”

    • From the QCC main tree menu, click on “News”, then click on “QCC Information Portal”

    • For a list of new screencasts, go to the Customer Education Portal on qss.com, then click on “Recently Published QSS Screencasts”

  • Can QSS deliver a separate but identical seminar or webinar at our location that is currently part of this year's seminar and webinar schedule?

Yes, any scheduled seminar or webinar can be presented at your location. Please consult the QSS Policies & Costs for Shared QSS On-site Engagements for specific guidelines.

  • How do I get registered for the QSSUG Listserv?

Contact Chris Gilbert of Sacramento COE at cgilbert@scoe.net.
  • How can a customer suggest a new webinar offering?

Customers may send topic requests for QSS webinars to ceteam@qss.com. The CE Team will review the request and, if approved, add the topic to the QSS webinar schedule. Customers may also send topic requests to the QSSUG Finance/Personnel or PSFA Committee co-chairs for consideration.
  • Where can I stay that is close to the seminar location? Can you recommend a place to stay?

Contact the host listed on the seminar flyer for hotel information.
  • Is lunch provided at an all-day seminar?

No, lunch is not provided. Contact the host listed on the seminar flyer for restaurant information.

Webinar Session Issues

  • Is it too late to register for a QSS paid webinar, even on the same day with less than an hour before the session begins?

To participate in the webinar on late notice, you will need to contact a QSS representative by email or phone to confirm payment will be made (primarily Yolanda (yolanda@qss.com), with Marcie (marcie@qss.com) copied, or contact Mike (mike@qss.com) in case neither Yolanda nor Marcie are reachable). QSS will decide whether the requesting customer is allowed to join the webinar without paying in advance. QSS will provide the appropriate GTW registration link for you to access the webinar.

Once you receive an email with the registration link, click the link and follow the GTW instructions. If the webinar has already started, you will be prompted to join the webinar in progress. Use the call-in information displayed in the webinar control panel’s “Audio Pane” section to access audio content for the webinar.
Note: QSS will try to assist as best we can in urgent situations, but we are not responsible for honoring late requests after the cut-off date. Customers are highly encouraged to register prior to the cut-off date to ensure a smooth webinar experience.
  • Is it too late to register for a webinar, even if it’s in session right now?

No, it’s not too late if the webinar is set up for you to self-register (all QSSUG webinars). Click on the registration link for the webinar and follow the instructions. If the webinar has already started, you will be prompted to join the webinar in progress.
Note: As a reminder, if you join a QSSUG webinar while it is in session and you are a non-member, you will be charged the full $250 non-member fee.
  • Help! We’re not getting any audio for the webinar. What should we do? Can you give us another phone number?

Please hang up and call again using the phone number provided in the email confirmation you received. Be sure to enter the correct Access Code and Audio PIN. Also, you can try using a different telephone. If you like, you can send a question to the Question & Answer panelist asking if others are experiencing audio issues. If you are still experiencing audio issues, click the link labeled “Problem dialing in?” in the Audio pane. This link takes you to a web page which contains an alternate phone number for you to try. At any time, you can communicate webinar audio issues with the Q&A person using the webinar question window.
  • Can I use my computer speakers instead of using my phone to listen to the webinar?

Yes, if you choose, you can hear a QSS webinar through your computer speakers using the GTW VoIP option. Once you've connected to the webinar, select the VoIP option from the Audio pane.
  • How do attendees ask questions during a webinar?

The Q&A person can answer questions you've typed in the Questions pane. Depending on how much time remains at the end of the webinar, the Presenter may ask for live questions from participants.

  • Why won’t QSS send me the PowerPoint (PPT) slide presentation in PPT format, rather than in PDF form?

QSS distributes materials in industry standard PDF format to give customers more flexibility in printing and viewing slides. For example, you can print multiple slides on a single page to reduce the number of printed pages.

Costs

  • What are the seminar and webinar charges for both QSSUG and QSS?

QSS and QSSUG set their costs independently. Here are the current rates:
    • QSS seminars are $250 per attendee
    • QSS-sponsored webinars are $250 per computer connection. A webinar can be shown in a training room with as many attendees as you choose, however each computer connection to the webinar is $250
    • QSSUG-sponsored webinars are zero cost for committee members, and $250 for non-members
    • QSSUG-sponsored seminars are $25 per person attending for committee members, and $250 for non-members

  • Why do committee members pay $0 for webinars, but are charged $25 for seminars?

Because seminars have limited seating, a nominal fee is charged to encourage attendance so that valuable seats are not left empty.

  • What is the refund policy for QSSUG and QSS workshops?

If you’re unable to attend, you can substitute another person. If you don’t substitute someone else, please see the table below for refund and credit information:

Webinar Recordings

  • I couldn't attend a QSSUG webinar and would like to watch it at another time. How do I access it?

Webinar recordings take a few days to process before they are available in QCC. Within approximately one (1) week of the live broadcast, you'll be able to view it by clicking on the link on the QCC "Help+Video" menu.
